Survey the history and distinctive culture of Sochi through its cuisine! 


Day 1


Meeting at the airport and transfer for the city tour. During the city tour you will see and visit the most significant city landmarks of
Sochi as the Cathedral of St. Michael Archangel -the first Russian Orthodox Church on the Black Sea
coast built between 1874 and 1891 and commemorating the end of the Caucasian War; Riviera Park laid
down in 1898, Plane-tree parkway laid down in 1913 in honor of 300th anniversary of the Romanov's
family tzar ship; the architectural monuments -Primorskaya Hotel and Winter Theater surrounded by 88
Corinthian columns; Sea Port. In addition to the sightseeings, you will be exposed to local cuisine. During
lunch the chef of one of the best restaurants will demonstrate cooking of the local dishes, which you will
taste afterwards and get recipe so that you can cook these dishes for your loved ones.
11am — meeting at the airport
1pm — lunch and a culinary master class
3pm — city tour
5pm — transfer to the hotel. Check-in.
7pm — dinner at the hotel




Day 2


Breakfast at the hotel.

Meeting with the guide in the lobby for a full day excursion to the mountains. Enjoy
a day surrounded by mountains, alpine meadows and other natural beauty! In 1898 the area of Krasnaya
Polyana/Red Glade was announced a sanctuary and was meant for conducting Imperial hunting. In 1901
the “Tsarist House” was built here for the Royal family. There was an idea at that time to lay out here a
town and name it Romanovsk (in honor of the Royal family) but this never happened… These days
Krasnaya Polyana/Red Glade is a popular skiing and hiking place. Our route will run through several
underpasses, including the longest one in Russia (2420m/1500mi) opened in 2005 and breathtaking
gorges. You will see venues for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton, ski jumping constructed for 2014 Winter
Olympic Games; stroll around Rosa Khutor ski-resort; get to the top of the mountain by cable for scenic
views over the Caucuses mountains and the village below. Additionally, you will visit local apiary where
you will taste various kinds of Krsanopolyanskiy natural honey and herbal tea made with spring waters
(all herbs collected on the slopes of Krasnaya polyana) . You will have lunch in the cafe on Krasnaya
Polyana. In the course of the day you will also visit the Olympic Park (coastal cluster) that is located in the
Imeretinsky lowland, about 2 km away from the Black Sea shore. You will see 6 stadiums where figure-
skating, speed-skating, short track speed skating, curling, ice hockey competitions were held during 2014
Winter Olympic Games. From the entrance of the Olympic Park you will get to the Medal Plaza by carts
and on the way will see Formula 1 Grand Prix Russia track constructed for the 1st ever race in Russia that
had been conducting in Sochi since 2014 till 2018.
10am — meeting with the guide in the lobby and transfer to Krasnaya Polyana en route visit to apiary
1 / 2pm — lunch in the cafe on Krasnaya Polyana
3pm – stroll around Roza Khutor Ski Resort
6pm — transfer to the hotel
7pm — dinner at the hotel




Day 3 


Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out.

Meeting with the guide in the lobby. Today you will learn about wood
carving and visit unique Church located in Khosta. In ancient days wood carving was very popular in
Russia. Nowadays there are but a few skilled artisans in Russia who can carve on wood. The Wooden
Sculpture Gallery is the only one of its kind in the area. Every sculpture reflects artist’s perception of the
world of wood. The tour is backed by special music written by the Artist’s son – famous jazz guitar player.
The Gallery occupies five floors of the private home and totals about 500 works. One more stop will be at
the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, which was built in 1911 at instigation of Maria
Scheglovitova, the Law minister’s wife. The Church was closed in 1933 and the building was used first as a
club and then as a PBX. In 1981 it was granted status of a church architecture monument and was open
again as a Church in early 90th. You can see here icons which are more than 200 years old along with
icons with particles of relics of St. Paul, St. Thomas, St. George and St. Matrona of Moscow. The tour of
Church is conducted by the Priest.
9am — check-out and meeting with the guide and departure for the excursion
1-2pm — transfer to the airport
Note: The Sculpture Gallery has no elevator and is not equipped for visitors with limited mobility or those
who utilize a wheelchair.
