Island Starichkov is situated at the south part of Avachinskaya Bay and washed by the Pacific Ocean. The total area of the island is only 0,5 sq. km. Its north-west past is lifted on 150 meters over the sea level and its flat summit descends with the steep slopes and the precipices to the ocean. Island Starichkov is announced a natural monument to preserve the bird colony and to create the conditions for the calm nesting and breeding of the sea colonial birds. 44 nest colonies, 11 species of the sea colonial birds (among them red-faced cormorant, spectacled guillemot, ancient auklet are a rare species of the shores of Kamchatka) are registered on island Starichkov. Island Starichkov is surrounded with multiple fringing reefs and stones uncovered in time of the low tides. The picturesque kekurs (the chain of the small islets) Karaulny and Chasovoy are situated in the sea near its shores. The rookery of the bay seal and the island insular seal are situated on the fringing reefs around the island. It is possible sometimes to meet the killer whales and the sea lions in near water. 

Tour program:

-         Embarkation on the cutter.

-         Way out to Tikhaya Bay, Babushkin Island, the cape Stanitskiy, the cliffs “Try Brata” (Three Brothers), “Tchertov palets” (Devil finger), the Zavoyko peninsula. Way out to Avachinskiy bay to Starichkov island. Walk around the island. Attendance for the sea mammals* and the bird colonies. The 40 minutes stop for fishing during the return. The dinner on the board. The diver will catch for degustation the delicacies of the Kamchatka depths (the caviar of the sea hedgehogs).

-         Return on board. The finish of the trip.

*priority of seeing of the sights can be changed depending on the weather; meeting with the species of the sea fauna depends on the season, the weather etc.
