Mutnovskiy volcano is one of the most active volcanoes on Kamchatka. Thanks to its unusual form everyone can climb to the volcano crater and see all its activities by own eyes. Fumaroles, vapour spews, mud pots. Fantastic volcano landscape leaves unforgettable impressions for everyone who climbs it.

All the volcano massif of Mutnovskiy volcano is formed with 4 cones stratovolcanoes. The east part of Mutnovskiy massif represents the double volcano, at the north sector a part of the old construction of the volcano and the great part of the young cone are destroyed. From time to time a deep depression exists, it inclines to the side of the river-valley Falshivaya and is filled with the glacier that is warmed with the fumaroles and destroys. The active funnel is put in the west edge of the main crater of volcano Mutnovskiy. The funnel is an oval form with the size 440x100 m and with the depth of 180 m.

Tour program:

07:00 Gathering of the group at the hotel.

07:20 Departure to the volcano plateau at the base of volcano Mutnovskiy (4 hours). During the trip stop on the top of the mountain spiral road where the magnificent view opens on one of the most beautiful volcanoes of Pacific ring – volcano Viluchinskiy.

12:30 Taking a snack (tea, coffee, sandwiches, sweets). Preparation for climbing, check of the equipment.

14:00 Beginning of climbing. Volcano Mutnovskiy impresses by the fact that in contrast to other volcanoes climbing is possible inside the volcano along the split. Crater of volcano has a special interest: mud small volcanoes, acid puddles, hissing fumaroles, surrounded by the bright-yellow spots of the crystals of sulfur, hot gurgling mud pots, boiling small lakes and small geysers. This exotica surrounded by the cliffs with a blue pendent glacier boils, sizzles, spits with the hot splashes and blows off the volumes of vapour and hydrogen sulphide. 

17:00 Dinner-supper. Rest.

19:30 Leaving for the city.

21:30 Return to the hotel.
